On 1st OCTOBER the church remembers St THERESE of LISIEUX.
Mother Teresa is probably one of the world's best-known Catholics... ever! She was quite an ordinary woman, doing unremarkable things, but doing them for Jesus and with great love. She fed the hungry, clothed the naked, and accompanied the lonely. Things that any one of us could do with minimal resources. Mother Teresa chose her religious name in honour of Saint Therese of Lisieux. Saint Therese was also known for doing “small things with great love” and “all for the Lord”.
None of us are beyond becoming saints if we follow the example of these two great women. Let us ask for the prayers of these Saints, that we would see Jesus in all people and do whatever we can, no matter how small, to share God’s mercy, peace and love with those we meet. Let us especially ask St Thereses of Lisieux for the grace to do the small, every day things of life with great love.
St Therese of Lisieux: Pray for us.
St Teresa of Calcutta: Pray for us.
